Foundation Objectives

(A) To plan, organize, and direct the local educational activities and scholarship programs of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Beta Pi Lambda Chapter.
(B) To implement the national community service programs of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. by providing information, resources, advocacy, programs and services to assist in the development of strong families in at risk communities.
Such programs shall include but are not limited to:
1. Go-to-High-School, Go-to-College
2. Vote-less People is a Hopeless People
3. Project Alpha
(C) To host an annual scholarship gala under the Go-to-High-School, Go-to-College Program for the purpose of providing financial assisstance to students from at risk communities entering college.
(D) To seek, obtain and acquire from private and governmental sources funding resources to be used for the provision of programs and services in support of the goals and objectives of the organization.
Vote-less People is a Hopeless People

The goals of this 1939 program are to :
a. Describe Alpha Phi Alpha's historic involvement in the political process;
b. Identify the constitutional laws that proved voting rights equality for all Americans;
c. Describe voter participation in at risk communities in recent elections; and
d. List and discuss at least three (3) issues affecting these at risk communities.
Go-To-High-School, Go-To-College

Adopted in the 1920's, this program is a historic program aimed at traditionally underserved and at-risk teenage boys. The objectives for student participation are to:
a. Improve their self esteem;
b. Improve academic performance;
c. Encourage students to complete high school and pursue education beyond the high school level; and
d. Increase their social awareness and problem solving skills in order to enable them to make more responsible decisions
Project Alpha
Alpha Phi Alpha partners with the March of Dimes in implementing this program aimed at teen (specifically male) sexual health. The major objectives include :
a. Sharing Knowledge - combating ignorance and fear with factual information;
b. Changing Attitudes - providing motivation toward positive changes in sexual behavior;
c. Providing Skills - creating a sense of empowerment and self-esteem
